Provision of Medical Equipment for the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine

In August 2022, our foundation received a request from the State Institution Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. The medical facility was in urgent need of upgrading its technical base: multifunctional beds, surgical tables, wheelchairs, IV stands, and medical devices — all of which were critical for the effective treatment of the wounded.

We immediately took the situation under control. At that time, most donor efforts were focused on tactical first-aid kits, sutures, and bandages, but we decided to go further — to seek out those willing to support the hospital on a larger scale. Dozens of calls, letters, and negotiations brought only a handful of hopeful responses, but we did not give up.

From Action to Miracle — Step by Step

Our foundation already had experience cooperating with Father Taras from the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, whom we supported with medical supplies. He became the key to a breakthrough. Father Taras introduced us to Inna — the head of the Ukrainian Sports Union in Denmark, a person of incredible energy and dedication. We promptly sent a request and soon received a response: “Yes, we have what you need.”

Thanks to our initiative, persistence, and well-coordinated connections, we managed to unite a powerful support network. When the head of the company Vilomix Ukraine learned that this was for an institute, he immediately decided to finance the transportation. And everything — from negotiations and logistics to partner coordination — was initiated and accompanied by our team.

What We Delivered to the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics

  • Multifunctional electric hospital beds
  • Modern surgical tables
  • Medical carts and chairs
  • IV stands and auxiliary equipment
  • Specialized devices for inpatient care

Exactly 21 days after the request, on August 23, a truck from Denmark entered the grounds of the Institute of Traumatology. What began as an impossible task turned into a well-coordinated reality. In front of us were not just boxes of equipment — before us was hope made tangible.

This project is a story about the power of initiative, about persistence in the desire to help, about faith in people and in results. We didn’t just deliver equipment. We proved that real change begins when you take responsibility — and act.

How Results Are Born: The Systematic Work of the Foundation

This project became an example of how perseverance, strategy, and humanity can change a situation that seemed to have no chance. The request from the Institute of Traumatology was not typical — it included dozens of items of complex inpatient equipment, which almost no one was supplying to Ukraine at that time.

But we are a charitable foundation that does not work by template. We do not simply deliver humanitarian aid — we analyze the need, look for solutions, and see things through to the end. Our approach is always systematic: we don’t wait — we act.

From Request to Delivery

After receiving the official request, the foundation’s team began active negotiations with partners in Europe, prepared technical descriptions of the equipment, translated documents, explained the specifics of the needs to donors, and held consultations with doctors.

We communicated with several countries at once, searching not for “just anything,” but precisely what would meet the medical institution’s request. And when the opportunity for cooperation with Denmark arose — we were fully prepared to implement it swiftly.

The Role of the Foundation in Coordination

The foundation acted as the full coordinator of the entire process:

  • Receiving the request from the Institute
  • Preparing the technical documentation
  • Identifying the appropriate donor
  • Organizing communication among all parties
  • Logistics, customs clearance, and unloading

What Our Foundation Did Within This Project

We gathered around the project a team that worked as a single unit — doctors, donors, logisticians, and volunteers. And each of them knew: it was the foundation that was leading the project, taking responsibility, and setting the pace.

Each Step Was the Result of Many Hours of Teamwork:

  • The complex request from the medical institution was analyzed
  • Over 30 contacts with potential donors were made
  • A reliable partner in Denmark was identified
  • Communication between doctors and international donors was coordinated
  • Supporting documents for export/import were prepared
  • Logistics were ensured together with a partner from Ukraine
  • Unloading, inspection, and transfer of equipment to the hospital were organized

People Who Helped

  • Inna, Ukrainian Sports Union in Denmark
  • Father Taras, Orthodox Church of Ukraine
  • Vilomix Ukraine
  • State Institution “Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics” of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine

“When everyone knows their role, but there is someone who leads — then the team is capable of more. This project proved: our foundation does not merely respond — we create change.”

The implementation of the project to provide the State Institution “Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” with specialized medical equipment became an example of effective coordination, professional approach, and deep humanity. It all began with an official request, which our foundation received on August 1, 2022. In less than three weeks, we went through the entire journey: from analyzing the needs to handing over the equipment. The foundation did not simply respond — we took on the role of organizer and operator of the project, conducting negotiations, preparing documents, communicating with donors and partners, and overseeing logistics and unloading.

Every stage was especially important for us. We knew it was not about help in general, but about specific items that would save health and lives every single day. We gathered around us those who share the values of fast, precise, and transparent assistance. Together with partners from Denmark and Ukrainian businesses, we achieved what at first seemed impossible. And on August 23, 2022, the truck with equipment entered the grounds of the Institute.

  • Official request received from the State Institution “Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”
  • Technical requirements reviewed and request formed for international partners
  • Contact established with the donor in Denmark — the Ukrainian Sports Union
  • List of equipment agreed upon, matching the hospital’s needs
  • Logistics and delivery ensured with the support of Vilomix Ukraine
  • Shipment accompanied at all stages: from loading to customs clearance
  • Equipment unloaded at the Institute’s premises
  • Equipment handed over to medical staff and official transfer carried out
  • Ceremonial opening of the renovated department with acknowledgments to all involved

The implementation of this project had a strong and multifaceted impact. First and foremost — on the patients and medical staff of the State Institution “Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.” The medical equipment significantly improved patient conditions, accelerated diagnostic and treatment processes. These are real changes that are felt every day.

At the same time, the project became an example of how civic initiative, well-coordinated partnership, and clear leadership can create a sustainable model of assistance. In just 21 days, a full supply cycle was implemented — from request to equipment transfer. We proved that even in a time of crisis, it is possible to achieve extraordinary results when acting with faith, openness, and a clear plan.

This is not just assistance to a hospital — it is a powerful signal to the entire system: change is possible when there is initiative. And our foundation is part of that change.

Project Achievements:

  • Improved the material and technical base of one of Ukraine’s leading medical institutions
  • Delivered dozens of units of inpatient medical equipment
  • Enhanced the quality of treatment and patient comfort during the postoperative period
  • Reduced the workload on medical staff
  • Created a successful model of international cooperation
  • Strengthened the foundation’s reputation as a reliable partner in the humanitarian and medical fields
  • United church, community, business, and state support into a single solution
