Light for the hearts of the pupils of Father Ivan Mykhailyshyn

How the events of December became a space of strength for children

In December, we didn’t just reflect on the year behind us.
We created moments that warmed hearts — small miracles that brought together art, gratitude, and belief in children.

In the three events that became the final highlights of 2025, we saw the main thing: care has power. And when this care is directed at children, it turns into hope.

The Art of Being Present

One of these events was held in collaboration with the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Variety and Circus Arts.
Together, we created a vibrant performance for the children of Ukraine’s National Defense University service members.
It wasn't just a stage and lights. It was a space where children could laugh, be surprised, and just be kids for a moment—without the worries of the adult world.

«When a child feels warmth and care — that too is a form of strength.»

People Who Bring Miracles

Every year, Father Ivan Mykhailyshyn creates a heartfelt celebration in Kyiv for St. Nicholas Day.
This time, the magic was brought to life by beloved magician Yura Monchak.
His 20-minute performance was filled with laughter, surprise, and genuine emotion. But behind it stand years of dedication, including visits to children in frontline areas.
Yura has never said no when it comes to children — and this year, he was honored with a special award by Metropolitan Epiphanius.

«It’s not recognition for noise — it’s recognition for service.»

A Child’s Talent That Shines Worldwide

December 6 was a day that united two meanings — St. Nicholas Day and the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A special Christmas event was held at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine, initiated by the wife of Ukraine’s Minister for Foreign Affairs.
The main guests were the children of soldiers, diplomats, and international service workers — children for whom, in times of war, care and kindness mean the world.
Among the performers in the program supported by the Orthodox Church of Ukraine was young circus artist Viktoriia Voitko.
After earning gold at Kyiv’s Magic Arena festival, Viktoriia went on to win the only gold medal at an international circus competition in Italy — a shining example of how talent nurtured in Ukraine can triumph globally.

When Silence Says More Than Applause

All three events in December shared one thing: sincerity.
No loud words. No stage spotlight for the sake of it. Just moments where children felt seen. Where someone showed up, quietly, and with love.

«Even in the hardest times, children, art, and human warmth remain our points of strength.»
